Elise Kuehn is a construction lawyer with more than a decade of construction litigation and surety law experience. As part of her practice, Ms. Kuehn advises general contractors,
subcontractors, and owners, among others, from the inception of the construction process through completion, and guides clients through disputes that arise during projects or after completion. Ms. Kuehn’s practice includes preparing bid protests, drafting contracts, and engaging in mediations, arbitrations, and litigation to resolve disputes for non-payment, project delays, defective work and warranty work, mechanic’s liens, and payment and performance bonds.
Prior to joining Strang Scott, Ms. Kuehn worked for a boutique Massachusetts construction law firm where she successfully advised and represented construction industry clients for a number of years. While employed with a surety company, Ms. Kuehn acted as a claim consultant and navigated the surety claim process from the inside out. As a result of her experience in surety work, Ms. Kuehn brings a rare perspective to the resolution of bonding and/or surety issues that arise in construction project disputes.
Ms. Kuehn was named a Top Lawyer in 2025 by Boston Magazine and has been named a Rising Star, multiple times by Super Lawyers. Ms. Kuehn is a member of the Construction Law Section of the Real Estate Steering Committee at the Boston Bar Association.
Ms. Kuehn received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is a fantasy football champion, an avid reader, and greatly enjoys any time spent on a boat.
